Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer

Want to try an interesting experiment on your friends and family? Nothing with Die Hard batteries and electrodes, mind you. Just ask this simple question: how many of you made a New Year’s resolution to exercise more? Count the number of hands that go up. Now, ask the follow-on question: how many of you have stuck with that resolution? You can probably already see where this is going. Sadly enough, many (dare I say most) of our New Year’s resolutions seem to dissipate as fast as our New Year’s hangover.

Many people decide to purchase some piece of home exercise equipment, and yet sadly a study has shown that almost half of these home exercisers end up as very elegant, sophisticated clothes racks.

This is a tough situation to battle against. Schwinn, a manufacturer of bicycles and exercise equipment, has developed a line of elliptical trainers to combat our couch potato nature. Elliptical machines have grown in popularity recently because they provide a great workout without the joint abuse generated by treadmills.

The Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer is one such elliptical trainer. It is smaller than most treadmills, which in itself is great news. Schwinn was listening to consumers when they designed this elliptical trainer. It is more stable than its predecessors, owing to a concave wheel design and its one hundred fifty two pounds weight. The foot pedals are articulated, reducing stress on you and the machine. The Schwinn 430 also has a full eighteen inch stride, all of which combines for a very smooth, fluid and stable stride.

A quick comment on price-this elliptical trainer can be found for around $600, including shipping. There are other elliptical machines from other manufacturers that sell in the same $600 price range. They also claim to have an eighteen inch stride. Test them. If you can, go to an exercise equipment store and move from machine to machine. The Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer will shine.

Schwinn outfitted the 430 with a monochrome LCD display and a simple set of buttons to program the elliptical trainer. The 430 has sixteen resistance levels, an upgrade from its predecessor which had only eight levels.
